Dungeons of Dreadrock Episode 2 Arrives in December

Christoph Minnameier is pleased to announce that the second episode of his critically-alcaimed game, Dungeons of Dreadrock, releases in December.

This is Christoph Minnameier’s first solo dev project on Steam, and after the incredible success of the first game, there is no wonder he wants to continue the story. Dungeons of Dreadrock released a year ago, and hit the following incredible heights:

  • Over 1 million total players
  • Top 10 iOS metacritic games 2023
  • Top 100 switch games 2023
  • Won Google IGF Europe, won Indie Clash and is currently a finalist in the PocketGamer people’s choice award.
  • Google Play Pass inclusion

Recently, the game was localised in 18 languages on Android and iOS, and the Nintendo Switch will receive a free demo and the localisation patch in March.

What is Dungeons of Dreadrock?

In Dungeons of Dreadrock, you play as a young hero whose brother has been chosen to defeat the King of the Mountain. But things don’t go as planned, and you soon find yourself on a quest to save your brother from being sacrificed at the Dead King’s crypt.

To do so, you’ll need to solve a series of challenging puzzles, evade traps, and fight off a wide range of enemies. From deciphering scrolls to pulling levers, stepping on floor plates, and avoiding fireballs, you’ll have your hands full as you make your way through the dungeon. While some enemies like zombies and dread beetles are easy to take down, others like ogres, dark elves, minotaurs, and dragons will require more strategy and skill to overcome.

Dungeons of Dreadrock takes the classic idea of old-school, first-person, grid-based real-time dungeon crawlers and puts a new spin on it, shifting the perspective to top-down. The result is a fresh, yet familiar experience that will appeal to both old-school gamers and casual players alike.

What Can You Expect in Episode 2?

With Episode 2, The Dead King’s Secret, currently in the works, you can expect a big change from the original game. While the game will still feature another hundred levels together with a compelling story, you won’t play as the same protagonist. The choir, Clamavi de Profundis, (over 200 million Youtube views) is creating music for the game.

The second episode of Dungeons of Dreadrock, The Dead King’s Secret, will release in December, 2023.
