Dragon’s Dogma 2 has an incredibly high max level, so high that only a truly dedicated fan could reach it. Here’s how much grinding you’ll need to put in.
If you want to be the best Arisen you can be, then you may be considering aiming for the max level. After all, what’s more impressive than an Arisen with some seriously high stats. However, if that is your goal, you may want to reconsider, as the game’s max level is so ridiculously high we suspect no one will reach it.
What Is the Max Level in Dragon’s Dogma 2?
The max level in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is level 999. This is the same for both you and your main Pawn. However, it’s worth noting that you’re unlikely to ever reach this point. At level 100, you’ll be more powerful than any of the game’s enemies or bosses. So, continuing to grind to level 999 would be practically impossible. The experience point gains would be too minimal to make it worthwhile.
Of course, you’re unlikely to reach even level 100 in just one playthrough. You’d have to complete the new game plus mode at least once to even consider hitting that level. When you factor in the fact that the number of experience points you need increases with each level, you’re looking at potentially dozens of new game plus playthroughs in order to hit level 999.
Frankly, it’s less important to level up your main level than it is your Vocational level, as this is how you unlock new skills and, more importantly, Augments. These can be transferred between all Vocations, allowing you to build an incredibly powerful Arisen. Additionally, if you’re planning on playing as the Warfarer, you’ll benefit from having already unlocked every other Vocation’s unique skills. So, prioritizing maxing out every Vocation is a far more worthwhile task.
Interestingly, the original Dragon’s Dogma had a slightly more strict level cap, although it was still incredibly high. You could only reach level 200 in Dragon’s Dogma, a far cry from the ridiculous level cap in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Of course, there were some players that reached that level, including darthpat1977, who posted on a GameFAQs forum 10 years ago asking what’s next.
