MW3 Zombies features several special zombies that players will come toe-to-toe with while exploring Urzikstan. Here’s what they are and how to find them.
To complete challenges in MW3 Zombies or simply survive, you’ll need to take down a special zombie or two. However, doing so won’t be easy, as these incredibly powerful creatures are a lot harder to kill than the regular cannon fodder. Fortunately, we’re here to tell you exactly what the special zombies are in MW3 Zombies, as well as how to find and kill them.
What Are Special Zombies in MW3 Zombies?
Special zombies are unique zombie types that are a lot tougher to kill than the regular ones found across the map. They are essentially mini-bosses and appear predominantly in the tier-2 and tier-3 zones or as targets in bounty contracts. However, they’re not particularly rare and aren’t limited to 1 per game, meaning they can appear multiple times in one game. Special zombies are not the same as the boss enemies, such as the Mega Abomination.
Every Special Zombie in MW3 Zombies
There are only 3 special Zombie types in MW3 Zombies. They are:
- Mimic
- Mangler
- Disciple
The Mimic is the tall, gangly zombie with a giant glowing mouth and tendrils. Its weak spot is its mouth, but you’ll need to be careful fighting it as it’s incredibly fast and deals a lot of damage with its claws. They most commonly appear in Infected Strongholds or as the target in Bounty Contracts.
The Mangler is the heavily armored zombie with a laser cannon for an arm. It’s easily beaten by picking it off from afar and from behind cover. It has a very long range, and its projectiles can damage other zombies, too. They appear randomly in the tier-2 zone as well as in Contracts.
Finally, the Disciple is the floating cloaked zombie. It has the ability to transform the zombies around it, as well as fire projectiles at you. The best way to defeat it is to strafe around it while unloading as many rounds as you can into it. It can be located in Low Town or near the  Orlov Military Base.
