Destiny 2: How to Bounty Prep for The Final Shape

The Final Shape expansion is coming in Destiny 2, and players can help boost their Season Pass levels with bounty prep.

Destiny 2 offers a new expansion on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, and players will have a new Season Pass to level up with its first episode. There will be over 200 levels in the new Season Pass, so it will take a lot of experience to get through, and bounties are the best way to earn it. Luckily, there is a solution to help you prepare for the next Season Pass by prepping your bounties in Destiny 2 and we have the details for you down below.

What Is Bounty Prep in Destiny 2 & How Do You Do It?

Bounty Prep is a way of accumulating bounties and holding onto them until the next season of Destiny 2 begins. Doing so allows you to turn them all in on the launch of the next Season Pass and have a headstart on the Pass right on day one of the Season. Players can easily do it by accepting and not redeeming bounties that provide significant XP. As vendor bounties do not reset with a new Season start, you can hoard them for the next expansion.

When it comes to the types of bounties, always start by accepting the higher XP giveouts. Below is a list of the best bounties to collect, finish, and hold till the new season:

  • Ascendant Challenge bounties (found at the Dreaming City)
  • Neomuna bounties (found at Neomuna on Neptune)
  • Cosmodrome bounties (found at Cosmodrome on Earth)
  • Nightmare Hunt bounties (found at Eris Morn on the Moon)
  • Hawthorne bounties (found at Suraya Hawthorne at the Tower)
  • Daily bounties from Zavala, Drifter, Shaxx, and Banshee-44 (all found at the Tower)

The bounties range in XP offerings, with some being XP++ and others being XP+ and XP. However, you will get a jumpstart on your next Season Pass by completing them and not redeeming them.

How Many Bounties Can You Hold in Destiny 2?

The total amount of quests and bounties that players can hold is 63 in Destiny 2. The amount is shared with quests, meaning players who want to Bounty Prep will need to abandon some of their current quests, especially if they wish to hoard as many bounties as possible. It is recommended if you wish to have quests, to hold 4-5 and save the rest for bounties. If you do this, you can still hold over 58-59 bounties, which is still a good boost to the future Season Pass.

That is everything you need to know about Bounty Prep in Destiny 2 and how many bounties you can hold at once. If you wish to learn more about the game, including about the upcoming The Final Shape expansion, be sure to visit our Guide Hub.
