Kril in Another Crab's Treasure

Another Crab’s Treasure: Is it Multiplayer?

Another Crab’s Treasure is a lot of fun in singleplayer, but does it have multiplayer or co-op? Here’s what you need to know.

A soulslike is always better with a friend, whether it’s killing them in combat or having them by your side in a challenging boss fight. So, it makes sense that fans would be wondering whether the latest soulslike, Another Crab’s Treasure, also features multiplayer co-op. Unfortunately, if you were hoping to dive into the deep blue ocean with a fellow hermit crab by your side, you’re out of luck.

Does Another Crab’s Treasure Have Multiplayer?

No, there is absolutely no form of multiplayer in Another Crab’s Treasure. You cannot fight other players in Another Crab’s Treasure, nor can you summon them to assist you. This will come as a surprise to many, especially fans of soulslike games where this has been an available feature for quite some time.

Additionally, it is unlikely that multiplayer or co-op will be added to Another Crab’s Treasure. It has been developed as a single-player experience. There has also been no mention of multiplayer coming in a future update. Furthermore, Aggro Crab, the game’s developer, has never added multiplayer to their previous games. This includes the roguelike Going Under, which feels perfectly suited to a co-op mode. Of course, it’s possible that multiplayer could be added in the future, especially if fans demand it enough.

Fortunately, if you’re finding the game too challenging, and that’s why you want multiplayer, you can turn on Assist mode. This is a tweakable setting that allows you to reduce the amount of damage you take, the durability of your Shell, and even give Kril a gun that one shots even bosses. While a gun is no substitute for a friend, it is pretty hilarious to use in Another Crab’s Treasure. That’s everything you need to know about multiplayer in Another Crab’s Treasure.
