As a fan of wrestling games more than watching wrestling itself, I was excited to check out Wrestling With Emotions: New Kid on the Block at LudoNarraCon 2023. I was not disappointed. The game is hilarious, quirky, and the perfect mixture of love and oiled-up hunks.
In Wrestling With Emotions: New Kid on the Block, you play as a new recruit in the Wrestling With Emotions (WWE) roster. You’ll need to train hard, make friends, and win matches if you want to make it to the top. Along the way, you’ll encounter a cast of colourful characters, including your arch-nemesis and your tag team partner.
The Wrestling With Emotions: New Kid on the Block Demo is a Nice Teaser
The Wrestling With Emotions: New Kid on the Block demo is a short but sweet taste of the full game. It gives players a chance to create their own wrestler, train them in the art of wrestling, and make meaningful choices that will affect their career and relationships.
The demo begins with you filling out a magazine entry form to enter the wrestling organization. Once you’re accepted, you’ll be able to create your unique wrestling look, pick your arch-nemesis, and choose your ideal tag team partner.
The demo allows you to complete two tasks in building your MEAT (Muscle, Elegance, Attitude, and Theatrics) stats. One task involves painting your nails with pretty colours, and the other involves giving feedback on music. Completing each task will increase your stats, and you’ll also encounter potential relationship characters along the way. Your interactions with these characters can strengthen your relationships and dictate how your player feels about them.
After completing these tasks, you’ll be able to swoon over your tag team partner and be pulled into the ring with them. However, your fun will be cut short when the mysterious Demo Dawg shows up. Demo Dawg is a lyrical genius who plays a role in the demo by essentially showing up and telling you when your time is up. Fortunately, they allow you to access more than what the original game indicates, stating it’s “because you’re the new kid” or in other words, because it is a short preview of the full game.
The demo is a great way to get a taste of Wrestling With Emotions: New Kid on the Block. If you’re interested in the game, I highly recommend checking it out. Plus, you can smash it out in about 30-45 minutes, so its definitely worth it.
