Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 — and Warzone 2 — Season 3 is coming to an end on June 14, 2023. The current season started on April 12 and brought new content, including new maps, weapons, operators, and challenges.
With the end of Season 3, players must complete any remaining challenges and earn rewards. As per usual, the Season 3 Battle Pass will also expire so players will need to purchase the Season 4 Battle Pass if they want to continue earning new additional content.
What Can You Expect From Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 4?
Season 4 is expected to introduce new content, including new maps, weapons, operators, and challenges. The developers have not yet announced any specific details about Season 4, but previously in Warzone 1, Call of Duty stated that Season 4 was their “biggest and most ambitious season yet.” Therefore, we could expect more of the same with Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2.
Here are some of the new content that is expected to be included in Season 4:
New Multiplayer Maps: Every season comes with new multiplayer maps, so it’s expected that this will continue.
New Warzone Map: There are numerous rumours pointing to a new Warzone map, titled Vondel. More information is below.
New Weapons: Season 4 is expected to include at least three new weapons.
New Operators: Season 4 is expected to include at least two new operators.
DMZ Progress Reset: All progress in DMZ will reset. Players will lose items in their inventories, including contraband, keys, and mission items to make way for fresh content. Insured Weapon Slots will also be reset, as Warzone 2 Season 4 will present a new way of unlocking them in the future. You can check the tweet by Infinity Ward here.
This suggests that Season 4 will be a major content update, with a lot of new content on offer. We will continue to update you when new information is released.
According to CharlieIntel, Warzone 2 Season 4 will introduce a new Resurgence map called Vondel. The map is set in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and was developed by Beenox, the same studio that created Rebirth Island. Vondel will initially only support Resurgence mode, but DMZ support is expected to be added later. It is not yet known if Vondel will replace Ashika Island in the Warzone 2 rotation, or if the two maps will be available at the same time.
