Vampire Survivors Receiving Co-Op Mode and New Console Release
Popular indie rogue-like shoot ’em up Vampire Survivors is heading to Nintendo Switch, along with a new mode to explore in August.
Previously announced during the 2023 Nintendo Direct. Indie developer Poncle is bringing their award-winning game to the Nintendo Switch. The game was developed by Poncle founder Luca Galante during the pandemic as a pastime and became a big hit thereafter.
Vampire Survivors is a bullet hell rogue-like that pits players against hordes of monsters and creatures and they must survive until dawn breaks.
The game was released on Xbox, iOS, Android, and Steam back in 2022. It is incredibly well-received, having over 98% of its 189,000 Steam reviews being positive. Nintendo Switch fans will now get to experience the game themselves and a fun new mode to play with friends.
Vampire Survivors is a gothic horror game that anyone can play, even the casual gamer.
The player’s task is to fight against the many hordes of monsters that they face and survive the night. As you progress through the night and go further, you will earn new weapons and characters. As well as choosing which upgrades to use in order to help you survive.
The game had previously won 2 BAFTA gaming awards in 2022, including Best Game; beating out both Elden Ring and God of War Ragnarok.
Co-Op Mode Details
The Nintendo Switch version is launching with all the latest updates to the game. Alongside the Switch launch, Vampire Survivors will include a couch co-op mode.
The mode is releasing on all previous platforms as well and players will have the option to either continue their current save file in co-op or start a brand new adventure.
The mode will feature four players and you will also be able to venture through the DLC with your friends.
