Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League – First Impressions

The Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League trailer has just been released and it is mindblowing. I will start this off that I have not played a ton of DC games myself but have watched a lot of story points and watched others play them. Haven’t seen it yet? Check it out below.

Next Generation Realism

Visually this game looks unreal. It looks like it is taking advantage of the next generation of graphics. This had better animation than the suicide squad animated movies. At first glance, I actually had to sit and watch until the end to make sure it was a game and not a new movie. The combat in the cinematic flowed so well, the image of the giant skull with tentacles in the backdrop was so striking.

The Characters

Captain Boomerang – Super well done, captures his goofy demeanor. This resonates with the Captain Boomerang I have seen in the DC animated universe.

Harley Quinn – They captured her personality perfectly. Her hair popping and standing out would be the only tweak I’d make. I think the color just fades into the rest of the outfit.

King Shark – Unfortunately my least favorite in the looks department. The head gave it the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles treatment. Its not terrible but just not proportionate to the rest of the body.

Deadshot – His personality seems classic Deadshot, all about the mission. His suit wasn’t a standout feature but it kind of grew on me.

Superman – This gave me chills. The visual of the army guy he has in his hand fading away like dust in the wind is just such an unreal visual. The effect with his eyes was extraordinary.

The Feeling of the Trailer

From the character interactions, which are very classic of all the characters. The score fits the battle well and creates an immersive effect. It overall just felt so well done, like I said above I was convinced this was a movie with how well it flowed.

The Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League trailer was the perfect rise of engagement. It was like climbing up a really tall mountain before witnessing the beauty on top at the summit. I went from laughing at the crews banter back and forth, to watching the battle and feeling like I was watching an avengers film.

When the Superman moment hit, I got chills. He was menacing and the music supported it perfectly. It gave me Man of Steel vibes where he is walking through the crowd of people (image below).

Final Thoughts

As previously mentioned, I have only played a handful of DC games. Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League looks to be a blockbuster release and definitely one to watch. What are your thoughts? Are you going to pick this up when it comes out? What system will you be playing on? Keep the conversation in the comments below.
