What is the Mantis Puzzle Side Quest?
In Starfield, the Mantis side mission is one of the most rewarding side missions, providing players with the Legendary Mantis Spacesuit Set and the Razorleaf Mantis Legendary Ship. To grab these epic prizes, you’ve got some serious challenges ahead. First, you’ll be fighting off powerful enemies that include high-level spacers and robots, who are no pushovers.
However, combat is just one part of the equation. You’ll also need to solve a difficult puzzle involving pressure plates, set in an underground base full of dangers. One wrong step and you’ll find yourself under fire from a trio of deadly turrets that won’t hesitate to shoot you down.
The adventure happens in a secluded outpost located at Denebola I-B, a far-off section of the Settled Systems. This remote base is where the action unfolds, putting both your combat skills and intellect to the test. So, if you’re up for a challenge that offers some of the best loot in the game, the Mantis mission is where you’ll find it.
What is the Solution to the Mantis Puzzle?
In Starfield, the Mantis side mission offers you an intricate puzzle to solve if you want to get your hands on the high-level loot. To crack this Mantis puzzle, you need to walk on pressure plates that spell out the word TYRANNIS. Start from the line of letters closest to where you walk into the room and follow the letters in order. The clue for this solution is in an audio log left by Leon Voclain.
But be careful, stepping on the wrong letter could spell disaster. If you mess up, you’re almost guaranteed to get killed. Once you successfully navigate across the letters, there’s a red button to your right, next to a barred door. Push that button and the door will open, letting you move on to the next challenge.
At this point, if you’ve kept Livvey alive, you’ll have a brief conversation with him. After that, gear up to fight a bunch of strong robots. Take them out one by one and you’ll score some incredible gear like the Mantis Razorleaf ship, a matching helmet, and a Mantis spacesuit. But stay alert: two sneaky robots are hiding near the console that unlocks the Razorleaf ship.
