Rumors are circulating online that the PlayStation Showcase is happening in May 2024, one year after the previous event.
PlayStation has many anticipated upcoming games, and players only want to see more information. Luckily, we may not need to wait much longer, as a PlayStation Showcase could be on the horizon. While we encourage everyone to take this with a grain of salt, the rumors are compelling.
When Is The 2024 PlayStation Showcase?
There is currently no confirmed information from PlayStation for when the 2024 PlayStation Showcase will commence. However, known leaker Jeff Grubb recently shared on a Giant Bombcast episode that fans of the event could see a PlayStation State of Play or PlayStation Showcase happening in May. He further clarified on X (formally Twitter) that he is leaning toward a PlayStation Showcase.
This would make sense; after all, last year’s PlayStation Showcase landed on May 24, 2023. A year between each major showcase does seem reasonable, and the last PlayStation event was on February 6, over 2 months ago.
What Will Be Shown At the 2024 PlayStation Showcase?
If the PlayStation Showcase goes forward in May 2024, players can expect abundant information and reveals from anticipated games. We may see more on the Silent Hill 2 Remake, including a release date. After all, it recently acquired its ESRB rating. Jeff Grubb also agreed the Silent Hill 2 Remake could be featured during the PlayStation Showcase for this year. He said during the Giant Bombcast episode; “I have heard that there will be a PlayStation something, either a State of Play or a Showcase, next month, in May, so this is probably going to be there.”
Additionally, known leaker The Snitch alluded in a post on X that the next PlayStation Showcase could also include the beloved Astro Bot. Hollow Knight: Silksong could also potentially be mentioned, as its listing recently went live on Xbox. While the listing has already been live on PlayStation for some time, due to the update, this could be a possibility.
Either way, the rumors keep up the hype for the PlayStation Showcase. Although the timing of the Showcase is just speculation, fans of the PlayStation Showcase can expect a massive amount of content to be featured when it goes live.
