The Rogue Prince of Persia is an upcoming roguelite Prince of Persia game, and we might already have a confirmed release date.
Despite not being officially unveiled, there have been numerous rumors and leaks swirling around the internet about an upcoming roguelite Prince of Persia game that is being developed by the team who made Dead Cells. While there is currently minimal information or footage available for the game, it won’t be long before we can play the game.
Rogue Prince of Persia Release Date Rumors
As first reported by Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming, Rogue Prince of Persia, the upcoming roguelite Prince of Persia game with a questionable title, will launch in Steam Early Access on May 14, 2024. He also mentioned that the game will be unveiled at the Triple-i Initiative on April 10, 2024.
While this may seem abrupt, Evil Empire has been working on the game for over 4 years. This title is planned to receive constant free updates and evolve over time based on feedback from the community, hence the development decision to launch early access. This will also be the first Ubisoft Day One release since Trials Rising in February 2019.
Other Upcoming Prince of Persia Titles
It feels as if we have been transported back to the turn of the millennium with the amount of Prince of Persia games coming to the market. The Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake is another upcoming Prince of Persia game, but development issues have plagued the title from the beginning. Fortunately, in November 2023, Ubisoft announced that the team at Ubisoft Montreal had passed “an important internal milestone and development is progressing.” Therefore, we might finally get an official update at the upcoming Ubisoft Forward in June. At this time, there are no other known Prince of Persia games, and Ubisoft has also stated that they are not working on any additional ‘remakes’.
