The Pokemon Go “Out to Play” event is highlighting routes, a feature that hasn’t really taken off since its release earlier this year. Fortunately, you’ll receive additional bonuses for exploring and completing routes, so this might urge players to check the feature out for the first time.
The event will run from Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at 10:00 am to Monday, October 2, 2023, at 8:00 pm local time. Here are all the details you need to know about the event:
Pokemon Go: “Out of Play” Event
Wild Encounters
During the “Out to Play” event, the following Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild:
- Psyduck (Shiny Available)
- Growlithe (Shiny Available)
- Onix (Shiny Available)
- Eevee (Shiny Available)
- Feebas (Shiny Available)
- Woobat (Shiny Available)
- Pawmi
- Arcanine (Shiny Available) [Rare]
Eggs
Hisuian Growlithe will hatch in 2 km and 7 km Eggs, in addition to the Pokemon that currently hatch from those Eggs.
If you’re lucky, you might even be able to find a Shiny.
Event Bonuses
The following event bonuses will be active throughout Pokemon Go “Out of Play”:
- Kecleon will be appearing more frequently at PokéStops.
- 3× XP for completing a Route.
- Earn Buddy Candy faster while exploring Routes with your buddy.
Field Research Task Encounters
Special event-themed Field Research tasks will be available in Pokemon Go, and these are the Pokemon you will encounter:
- Hisuian Growlithe (Shiny Available)
- Hisuian Sneasel
- Hisuian Qwilfish
- Pawmi
Out to Play: Timed Research
There will be a free Timed Research for the “Out of Play” event that focuses on Routes and exploration.
Trainers can complete the research tasks to earn items, Stardust, and encounters with Hisuian Growlithe (shiny available).
Tails of Adventure: Paid Timed Research
For US$ 2.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), Trainers can access an event-exclusive Timed Research, and receive the following rewards:
- Six encounters with Hisuian Growlithe
- Five encounters with Growlithe
- Two Incubators
- One Super Incubator
The Timed Research must be completed and their rewards must be claimed before Monday, October 2, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
Pokemon Go New Avatar Items
To celebrate the event being centred around Hisuian Growlithe, you can now look like one with a new wig. The Hisuian Growlithe Wig is available to purchase in the in-game shop for 200 PokeCoins and will continue to be available even after the event ends.
