Gaming enthusiasts everywhere are always on the lookout for titles that not only entertain but also resonate on a deeper emotional level. At the recent SXSW Sydney 2023 Games Festival, amidst the 150 games on show, we found such a gem, Kinder World.

This cozy game about watering plants and exploring emotions uniquely blends art and introspection. Our team had the delightful opportunity to get hands-on with the game, and the experience was complimented by meaningful discussions with the beautiful minds responsible for Kinder World.

What is Kinder World?

Set against the backdrop of an incredibly wholesome and cute art style, Kinder World transports players into a realm where nurturing plants mirrors the journey of nurturing one’s emotional well-being. With gameplay designed for mobile, each session encourages players to introspect, explore feelings, and foster kindness, even if it’s just for a few minutes a day.

  • Play on your mobile for just a few minutes per day.
  • Engage in activities like watering your plant, or take a moment to name and acknowledge your emotions.
  • Meet characters like your adorable neighbour, Samy the dog.
  • Unlock animal companions to spend time with in your cosy home.
  • Decorate your space with plushies, postcards and more to truly make your space feel like home.
  • Calming soundtrack ensuring relaxation and comfort.
  • Engage in “Crowdhealing” to spread kindness within the in-game community by sending and receiving anonymous heartwarming messages in 6 categories: distract, validate, comfort, commiserate, celebrate, and encourage.
