Is Fortnite Shutting Down in 2024? Rumours Explained

There are rumours cirulating that the popular Battle Royale Fortnite will be shutting down in 2024. But how true are they?

Fortnite has been one of the most popular Battle Royale titles since it originally launched back in 2017. However, that hasn’t stopped fans worrying that one day it may all come to a close. With rumours circulating that the game may be shutting down any day now, it’s understandable that players may be wondering what’s going on. Fortunately, the it doesn’t look like Fortnite is going anywhere any time soon, and below we explain why.

Is Fortnite Shutting Down in 2024?

No, Fortnite is not shutting down in 2024. In fact, it’s player count has hit an all-time high of 5,471,208 during the release of the recent OG Season Chapter 4 Season 5. It saw the return of the original Fortnite map and mechanics, which fans have been requesting for some time. Additionally, Epic Games has not indicated or announced the permanent closure of Fortnite’s servers, and it’s hard to believe they will any time soon.

However, these rumours have likely began circulating due to fan’s disliking various mechanics introduced in the latest Seasons. Additionally Fortnite’s player count was declining slightly, likely leading to those wanting an alternative to take its crown, or those simply fatigued with the game, hoping for its demise. Fortunately, for those still enjoying the game, it looks like Fortnite is here to stay.
