However, if you were waiting to try Helldivers 2 via a free weekend, you may be waiting a while. Is There Going to Be a Free Weekend for Helldivers 2?
No, there will not be a free weekend for Helldivers 2 in the near future. There have been no confirmed plans for any free weekend events happening for the game post-launch. While online-only video games tend to offer free trials as a way of incentivizing more players to join, so far, it doesn’t seem like Helldivers 2 will go down that route.
It’s worth noting that shortly after launch, the requirement for PS+ to play Helldivers 2 was temporarily dropped for a weekend. However, you still needed to pay for the game. This caused a little bit of confusion in the community, but it wasn’t officially classed as a free weekend.
