According to sources who originally were correct about the first trailer, Rockstar is reportedly gearing up to launch GTA 6 in Q1 2025.
Rockstar released its first trailer in December 2023 but has since kept its lips shut on when the release date for GTA 6 will be. Since then, there have been rumors swirling about when the game will finally launch, and considering GTA 5’s success, the latest game in the series might be one of the most anticipated games of all time.
What Are The GTA 6 Release Date Rumors
While we urge you to take this information with a grain of salt, some reputable evidence has come to light that suggests GTA 6 will launch in Q1 or early 2025.
JarlofRivia, a leaker who got many details correct about the initial GTA 6 trailer, suggested that the game would launch in January or February 2025 before the trailer aired in December. Jason Schreier from Bloomberg also supported the claim of an early 2025 release in a recent report and mentioned that Rockstar workers would return to the office five days a week beginning in April as GTA 6 is entering its “final stages of development.” Nuro, another known Grand Theft Auto leaker and the “CEO of GTAonlineNews” on X (formally Twitter), claimed that the game will launch specifically on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
While we aren’t too sure about the accuracy of the information, they directly line up with a recent Take-Two Interactive (the publisher of GTA 6) investor’s call. During the call, the Chief Financial Officer mentioned they will see “a significant inflection point in fiscal 2025 that will culminate in us delivering new record levels of operating performance next year and beyond.” The 2025 fiscal year for Take-Two Interactive ends on March 31, 2025.
On a positive note, it’s good to see that none of these claims are being reported for the second half of 2025. Of course, if things get a little rocky, Rockstar has every right to delay the game if it’s not ready, as I’m sure everyone will lose faith in video games if GTA 6 isn’t a commercial success. I don’t think anyone will want a repeat of what happened with Cyberpunk 2077.
