Dragon’s Dogma 2: How Does New Game Plus Work?

Dragon’s Dogma 2 does have new game plus, but players may be wondering how it works and what carries over. Here’s what you need to know.

New game plus modes typically allow players to replay their favorite games without the hassle of finding all the best equipment again. It essentially enables you to focus on your favorite aspects of the game, such as exploration, and finish off any quests you may have missed. Fortunately, Dragon’s Dogma 2 has a new game, plus mode, allowing you to go tackle all the caves, trolls, cyclopses, and more without worrying about wearing miner’s rags again.

How Does Dragon’s Dogma 2 New Game Plus Work?

Players will unlock new game plus in Dragon’s Dogma 2 after they’ve beaten the main story. You can select to start a new game plus save, continue from the last inn rest, or continue from your last save. If you choose to start a new game plus save, you’ll be given four prompts, first explaining what carries over, then making sure that you definitely want to start a new game plus. This is because it will wipe your current save, as the game only allows you to have one save at a time. This means that you’ll lose anything that doesn’t carry over, as well as being at the end of the game.

The only things that won’t carry over into your new game plus save are your quest progression, any hired Pawns you had by the end of the game, and all of your unlocked Portcrystals. Here is everything that carries over:

  • Your Level
  • Main Pawn
  • Weapons
  • Armor
  • Items
  • All Gold
  • Map Progression
