Remnant 2 releases this month, but many are wondering if the game supports cross-platform functionality between PC and consoles.
Gunfire Games’ survival shooter is currently not releasing on Xbox Game Pass. However, the hype for this game is still incredibly strong, and the player community is still looking to be large. But will players be able to play with others on different consoles?
The game’s predecessor Remnant: From The Ashes supported cross-play but it was limited to PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It would only make sense for the sequel to support a larger form of cross-play and, in turn, bring the community closer together.
Unfortunately at the moment, there has been no confirmation by Gunfire Games that Remnant 2 will have cross-play between platforms. However, there are still over two weeks before launch and it is possible that a confirmation could still be released by then. If there is no cross-play at launch then the function could come in a future update to the game.
Cross-play has been around for many years and was seen as a fantastic implementation by players across the board. It allows friends to play together on a console they don’t own but with a game they do.
Some of the biggest titles currently support it and it has helped to bolster their community numbers. In a lot of cases, it helps to improve a game’s lifespan greatly. Games such as Fortnite, Call of Duty, Rocket League, and Minecraft all support cross-play, and it’s a feature that should be a standard for most games in the future.
