Aussies can now finally get their hands on the highly anticipated PlayStation VR2 PC Adapter and access a wide range of Steam VR games.
After Sony announced earlier this year that a PlayStation VR2 PC Adapter would become available, VR players have been excited. This adapter gives users even more content to enjoy, as they’ll be able to connect to their PC and experience some of their most highly anticipated VR games, such as Half-Life: Alyx. Now, it’s finally arrived in the land down under.
When Is The PC PlayStation VR2 Adapter Out?
The PlayStation VR2 PC Adapter is out now for an estimated $94.95AUD at select retailers across Australia. Those who want to purchase the adapter directly from PlayStation will be happy to know it is also available on their official website. Although this is an exciting new addition, it should be noted that the adapter is not all you will need. A DisplayPort cable compatible with DisplayPort 1.4 is required, and your PC must meet the minimum requirements to support the PS VR2. Below are the minimum requirements needed for your PC.
| Operating system | Windows 10 64-bit / Windows 11 64-bit. |
| Processor | Intel Core i5-7600 / AMD Ryzen 3 3100 (Zen 2 or later architecture is required). |

How To Connect PlayStation VR2 to PC
Before connecting your brand-new adapter, it should be noted that the PlayStation VR2 was specifically made for PlayStation 5 consoles. This means features such as HDR, headset feedback, eye tracking, adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback will not be available when playing on a PC as it is a PlayStation 5 VR headset. Although you lose these beloved features, 4k visuals, 110-degree field of view, finger touch detection, see-through view, foveated rendering, and 3D audio will continue to be supported on PC. Players must set up their PlayStation VR2 on their PC to customize their settings and play area. Below are the steps for connecting your PlayStation VR2 to your PC.
- Connect the PlayStation VR2 to your PC using the PlayStation VR2 PC adapter and the DisplayPort 1.4 cable.
- Download the PlayStation VR2 App.
- Download the SteamVR App from Steam.
After this setup, the PlayStation VR2 will be ready to use on your PC. However, performance may vary depending on your PC’s setup. This includes the quality of the DisplayPort 1.4 cable and your VR game requirements. Players would benefit from double-checking the requirements needed for their selected Steam VR game to enjoy it to its full potential.
