Concord is a multiplayer experience that requires a constant internet connection to play, but do you need PlayStation Plus as well?
Concord may very well be the next big multiplayer shooter, but its high price point is putting some players off. So, it’s understandable that those planning on spending $40 for the base game are wondering if they need to spend additional money to get PlayStation Plus. Unfortunately, if you were hoping the starting cost was the end, you’re out of luck.
Do You Need PlayStation Plus to Play Concord?
Yes, you need an active PlayStation Plus membership to play Concord. This is required as it is an always-online multiplayer experience that doesn’t feature any solo content. Of course, this only applies to players on PS5. If you’re on PC, it goes without saying that you won’t need a PlayStation Plus membership. However, you will need a PSN account.
It’s worth noting that the Open Beta for Concord does not require a PlayStation Plus account. While those with a PS+ membership got early access to the Beta, if you’re playing the Open Beta, you can do so without one. This is because the Open Beta is free, and free multiplayer games on PlayStation do not require PS+. However, as the full release is a paid experience, you will need PlayStation Plus.

If you cancel your PlayStation Plus membership at any time, you will lose access to Concord. The only exception to this rule would be if Concord went free-to-play or introduced some form of single-player offline content. However, while the former is likely, the latter seems highly improbable. That’s everything you need to know about Concord’s PlayStation Plus requirements.
