The spiritual successor to Boku No Natsuyasumi, Natsu-Mon: 20th Century Summer Kid, is finally getting a worldwide release on the Switch.
Natsu-Mon: 20th Century Summer Kid was released in Japan back in July 2023. However, there was no sign of an English localization anywhere. Fortunately, the Steam version of the game was recently announced, with its Steam page revealing that English localization would be coming in August. Of course, Switch fans were left in the dark as to whether they’d also get the localization treatment. Fortunately, it’s now finally happening.
Natsu-Mon: 20th Century Summer Kid Getting English Localization
After a very long wait, Natsu-Mon: 20th Century Summer Kid is finally getting an English Nintendo Switch port on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. While the game will still be voiced in Japanese, the full game has been translated. We can all finally experience the critically acclaimed Breath of the Wild-esque adventure game and understand what’s going on.
Natsu-Mon: 20th Century Summer Kid is an open-world adventure game in which you play a young boy who spends his summer in a rural Japanese town. The game takes place over 30 days, and it’s up to you how you spend that time. You can fish, catch bugs, spend time with your friends, help your family, go on a date, and much more. You can see the official English announcement trailer below to get an idea of what you can experience.
Fortunately, if you’re not 100% sold on the game, you can also try out a free demo on the eShop. It is coming on July 30, 2024. This will allow you to experience an in-game day and explore some of the open world. It’s currently unclear whether the game’s new DLC, Broadcast Over Sunset, will also be getting localized. However, as it will get an English language patch on Steam, it would make sense that it will get the same treatment on Switch.
The Switch version will cost $39.99/£34.99 but is currently not available for pre-order. It is likely the DLC will cost around $14.99/£13.49 (based on the Steam store page listing). That’s everything you need to know about Natsu-Mon: 20th Century Summer Kid. For more articles just like this one, be sure to check out our Guide Hub.
