Viessa in The First Descendant

The First Descendant: Where to Find Anais

Magister Anais is one of the most important NPCs in The First Descendant, so why is it so hard to find her? Here’s where you need to look.

The First Descendant has a lot of confusing mechanics that aren’t very well explained. For example, opening Amorphous Materials is surprisingly hard. However, one mind-boggling aspect is locating a certain NPC: Magister Anais. She’s an incredibly useful character, as she helps you unlock new Descendants. However, finding her in Albion can be pretty tricky. Fortunately, we’ve revealed her exact location below.

Where to Find Magister Anais in The First Descendant

Anais is located to the far west of Albion in The First Descendant, the main hub area of the game. You can locate her on the map by looking to the left-hand side of the map and searching for the Y symbol with three circles at the end of each line. You can see the map below for more details. It’s not hard to reach this area, and will only take you a couple of seconds after you’ve spawned into Albion. If you’re not sure how to open the map, it is M (PC), Touchpad (PlayStation), and Up on the D-Pad (Xbox).

Once you’ve located her, you can discuss researching new Descendants which then unlocks them. You’ll need to gather several materials for each Descendant and then give them to Anais. You’ll need to do this to unlock Bunny, for example. Fortunately, you can find out exactly which materials you need by talking to Anais first. Simply select Research, then Descendant, then the Descendant you want to unlock, and look at the list of materials they require.
