The First Descendant: Does it Have PvP?

The First Descendant is a fun, cooperative third-person shooter, but are there any PvP modes for players to sink their teeth into? Here’s what you need to know.

While a lot of players prefer to fight alongside their buddies, there are many who would rather blast their friends to pieces in brutal PvP combat. Multiplayer games have often offered some form of PvP, even those that skew more in favor of PvE gameplay. So, it’s no surprise that fans are wondering if The First Descendant has a PvP mode. Unfortunately, if you were hoping to battle your friends in the latest multiplayer phenomenon, you’re out of luck.

Is There PvP in The First Descendant?

No, there is no PvP mode in The First Descendant. It is an entirely cooperative experience, and therefore, there is no way to fight other players. This has been confirmed by the developer Nexon Games. It has stressed that The First Descendant is a co-op game first and foremost. It has no intention to add a PvP mode any time soon, especially near launch.

When answering a fan’s question about implementing PvP during a Dev talk, Producer Beomjun Lee and Director Minseok Joo stated that they wanted to create a game that would “stay true to PvE” from the start. They then followed up by saying, “We do not have plans to add PvP content for the time being.” So, it doesn’t look like fans should expect any PvP content in the near future, as The First Descendant has always been developed as a co-op PvE experience.

The First Descendant Gameplay

Of course, it goes without saying that a PvP mode could be added in the future. While Nexon Games has been firm about its stance on The First Descendant being a PvE game, if there’s enough demand from fans, it’s possible a PvP mode could be added. This is pure speculation, though, so don’t get your hopes up. That’s everything you need to know about The First Descendant being PvP.
