However, after the campaign, many have been presented with the quest, Alone in the Dark. There are multiple steps to take, and many may be curious about what to do. How to Complete Alone in the Dark in Destiny 2: The Final Shape
To complete the Alone in the Dark quest in Destiny 2: The Final Shape, players must search for ghosts, complete Overthrow, complete a Cyst side mission, and then return to Micah-10 in the Arbor of Light. The quest may seem daunting, but it’s easy to get through. Furthermore, as it must be done more than once, it becomes very easy to understand once you get the hang of it. The various steps for the quest can be found below in detail.
Alone in the Dark, Step #1 – Find Ghosts in the specific search location
Upon accepting the quest, players must first locate a Ghost in the green-marked area on your map. The Ghosts are not easily labeled, and players must see them. When you are in the correct location, “Objective Near” will appear on the left of your screen. The Ghosts sit in bronze and orange auras; when you see it, interact with it. Most of the Ghosts are situated in the Pale Heart Lost Sectors. So, be sure to keep this in mind when venturing near their last known locations.
Alone in the Dark, Step #2 – Open Overthrow Chests
After collecting the Ghost, players must open chests from Overthrow, the regional activity in The Pale Heart. However, the correct Overthrow must be completed. Although it is indicated on your quest page, players must do the Overthrow in the area from which they got the Ghost. For example, if players get one from the Lost Sector at The Impasse, they must open Overthrow chests in this area. Therefore, complete a few of the Overthrow encounters, and the step will become complete.
Alone in the Dark, Step #3 – Complete a Cyst Side Mission
Next, players will have to complete a Cyst side mission. The questline will indicate where you have to go, as the Cysts designations are random. Upon arriving at the correct Cyst mission, an Eagle of light will be present. Follow the Eagle and always keep track of where it lands. It will eventually lead you to the entrance of a Cyst to complete. Players must open the rift door to get in; the properly displayed Runes must be shot. Some Cysts only have three Runes present, while others have more. There is no time limit, so be sure to find each Rune and shoot the same one around your area. There are six different Cyst missions, and each presents its own unique way to be completed when you begin them. At the end of each, players must interact with the Ghost to complete it.
Alone in the Dark, Step #4 – Return to the Arbor of Light & Micah-10
Once you have completed the Cyst mission, players must return to the Arbor of Light, where Micah-10’s station is. In the middle of the floor is a crack with a light sticking out; interact with it. This action causes the Ghost to heal. Afterward, return to Micah’s station to receive your reward.
Players should note that the quest is repeatable and does not go away. However, completing it five more times will unlock all of the Cyst missions (six total). Additionally, after completing the Overthrow step in Alone in the Dark, players need to swap the Cyst variant by interacting with the Light Eagle when arriving at the objective marker. However, this does not start occurring until after the third run of Alone in the Dark.
