When Is Disney Lorcana: Shimmering Skies Releasing?
The fifth set of Disney Lorcana, Shimmering Skies, will be released at local game stores across Australia on Friday, August 9, 2024, and will be available at mass market retailers from Friday, August 23, 2024. Shimmering Skies will introduce new Disney Characters and evolved game mechanics. It will also give players a peak at what is next for the realm now that the Ursula glimmer has finally been defeated.
Shimmering Skies will also feature the beloved Wreck-It-Ralph franchise and characters such as Vanellope Von Schweetz and Fix-it Felix Jr. New gameplay mechanics will use electric energy to amp up the gameplay. However, more details on how that all works will be revealed closer to launch. Those curious if these new cards will be functional additions to all other Disney Lorcana cards will be happy to know they are playable with existing decks from all different sets.
It should also be noted that Shimmering Skies is accompanied by Disney Lorcana Gateway, which is designed as an entry point for new Disney Lorcana players. - Starter decks will be priced at AU$29.99/NZ$32.99. There will be two starter decks included, featuring a combination of Emerald/Steel and Amethyst/Ruby.
- Booster packs will be priced at AU$9.99/NZ$10.99.
- A New Illumineer’s Trove will be priced at AU$99.99/NZ$109.99.
- Two New Placemats will be priced at AU$35.99/NZ$39.99. One will feature Mirabel from Disney’s Encanto and the “Accomplished Mystic” glimmer of Belle from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.
- A New 9 Pocket Portfolio will be priced at AU$35.99/NZ$39.99. This will include artwork from Disney Lorcana artist Nicholas Kole.
- Card Sleeves will be priced at (AU$17.99/NZ$19.99.
- Deck Boxes will be priced at AU$10.99/NZ$11.99. These will feature Disney’s Tiana and Aladdin.
In addition to these products, Disney Villainous, the popular boardgame, will also get exclusive Shimmering Skies content. The two have collaborated to release a foil version of Prince John in brand-new copies of Disney Villainous: Introduction to Evil. Fans will need to ensure they find the identifying sticker on the game to gain the Shimmering Skies card.
