Thanks to the launch of a brand-new web tool, many unannounced games, including a potential Final Fantasy 9 remake, have been discovered in the Epic Games Store’s database.
Over the past week, Xbox Showcase, Devolver Direct, and the Summer Game Fest have announced highly anticipated games and made big reveals. It’s safe to say that it has been a week full of excitement as we wait to play our next favorite game. Now, thanks to the new web tool EpicDB, players may be able to add even more to their list. A vast number of upcoming unannounced games have been leaked.
What Games Were Leaked Via The Epic Games Store?
Several games, including potentially a Final Fantasy IX remake, have been leaked via the Epic Games Store. However, it’s hard to pinpoint exactly which titles have been revealed. There is not only a lot of data, but some of the games are listed by their codenames. Resetera user MondoMega pointed out how easy it is to search any publisher on the database and see all currently available titles and unannounced ones.
When searching through SteamDB, recently announced games such as LEGO Horizon Adventures and Concord have been found. However, one notable find happens to be a Square Enix title with the code name ‘Momo’. This seems to refer to the highly anticipated Final Fantasy IX Remake. Additionally, DLC for ‘Momo’ such as ‘Cuisine Set’ and ‘Thunderbolt Amulet’ were discovered, as well as the pre-order bonus ‘Thief’s Knives’ and the early purchase bonus ‘Tetra Master Starter Pack’.

It should be noted that many of these upcoming titles have codenames. So, when leaks like this do happen, fans are still somewhat left in the dark. Since EpicDB went live, fake listings have also been published on the site to confuse users. This means listings dated from June 9 and 10, 2024, and beyond will need to be taken cautiously. They may not be real unannounced games.
