Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Gameplay Brings An Icon to Next-Gen

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has received a brand-new gameplay trailer that shows off the game’s stunning visuals and changes to the original game.

It has been over a year since Konami revealed details of a full next-gen remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The remake, known as Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, didn’t have many details revealed until this year’s Xbox Games Showcase. In an almost surprising announcement, players were treated to new gameplay of the beloved title. Originally created by Hideo Kojima, the game is set during the Cold War and is responsible for helping grow the action-espionage genre in video games. Now, with Metal Gear Solid Delta, a new generation is going to be able to experience it.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Brings Snake’s Mission to Next-Gen

The Snake Eater remake looks to follow in the footsteps of Capcom and the Resident Evil series. The title keeps the same elements that made it iconic but with a next-gen touchup. The gameplay trailer from Konami shows many memorable moments but with greatly improved visuals. Snake’s sneaking looks as cool as ever, with impressive animations helping each encounter feel incredibly tense. Additionally, the trailer reveals that the original audio for the game is being kept in. This is something that is going to put many at ease, especially as David Hayter, the original Snake voice actor, is back. Of course, this also means that the game’s incredible script will also be making a return.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will feature a modernized control scheme, likely similar to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. However, players can also opt to use the original controls from the PS2 Snake Eater game. This will cater to those both new to the game and veterans as well. Additionally, the trailer showcases our first look at many characters like The Boss and the Ocelot Unit. We also see various types of weapons such as light machine guns, suppressed pistols, and more. So, players who want to go in guns blazing or use the true Big Boss approach are going to be in luck.

A Release Date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Did Not Sneak In

Unfortunately, details on a release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater were not present in the showcase. While there is still a chance it will be released in 2024, we don’t know for sure. However, it is likely the game will not be released until 2025. For now, we’ll just have to be patient and continue rewatching the gameplay trailer.
