PAX Australia Reveals Keynote Speaker & First Special Guests

The highly anticipated Storytime Speaker for PAX Australia 2024 has been revealed, including two special guests.

PAX Australia is a highly anticipated event fans of all ages look forward to each year. As we get closer to the highlighted event, reveals and announcements are made, hyping up the anticipation. Now, the Storytime Speaker and PAX Australia’s first special guests have been announced.

Who Is The PAX Australia Storytime Speaker?

Award-winning game creator Julian Wilton, the Creative Director of Massive Monster, will be the 2024 PAX Australia Storytime Speaker. Julian created and sold his first console game when he was only 17, and he’s been on a roll ever since. He continued to create games to support himself while studying design at university, and then Julian and two of his friends decided to start Massive Monster in 2016.

Since its creation, Massive Monster has produced over fifty excellent titles, including the worldwide loved and multi-award-winning 2022 game Cult of the Lamb. Along with beloved Australian Indie Showcase winner Adventure Pals. Julian will have an abundance of content to discuss, and his Storytime will open PAX Australia 2024 in the main theatre on Friday, October 11, 2024. He’ll go into detail about his journey into game development, the success of Massive Monster, and how they got a major publishing deal with Devolver Digital.

Who Are The PAX Australia Special Guests?

Canadian voice actor Mark Meer and stand-up comedian John Robertson will join as special guests at PAX Australian 2024. Mark is best known for his role as the worldwide-loved Commander Shepard in the Mass Effect series. He has also featured in several other games. These include Baldur’s Gate, Dragon Age, The Long Dark, Gotham Knights, and last year’s Mythforce.

As for John, he’ll bring the famous world’s only live-action video game, The Dark Room. This interactive cyberpunk comedy game show has been selling out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and other festivals worldwide.

More is to come to PAX Australia, including Sea Shanties, talent, entertainment, panels, titles, and publishers.
