Content Warning, the massive indie co-op survival horror looks to be making its way to both PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
Landfall Games has seen, unsurprisingly, pretty incredible success with Content Warning. Recently, the game reached a milestone of 2.2 million copies sold, with 8.8 million players on Steam owning the title. It’s all down to the game’s loop, which sees players needing to find the many terrifying monsters in order to get views, which tends to lead to some extremely funny and frankly spooky times. However, players on consoles have been missing out on the experience, with many wondering if the game is going multiplatform. Fortunately, we have good news, as it seems Content Warning may be heading to consoles.
Content Warning May Be Heading To PlayStation & Xbox
Recently, user Bruh24033 on X inquired whether Content Warning would have even more success if it was ported to console. The official Landfall X account then surprisingly replied with the Eyes emoji, the universal symbol for “we’re not telling.” Of course, while this isn’t an official indication that Content Warning is coming to consoles, it does definitely, and quite heavily, imply it.
Adding more ways for players to play Content Warning can only be a good thing, although we appreciate it takes a lot of hard work to do. Not only will it prolong the game’s lifespan, but it also opens it up to a wide range of players who may have otherwise never played it. However, until an official confirmation on the game’s console release, the announcement from the Landfall Games X account should be taken with a grain of salt. Below, you can see the tease from Landfall.
This isn’t the first time the game’s arrival on consoles has been mentioned. In April 2024, The Loadout interviewed the game’s community manager, Hanna Fogelberg. During the interview, the concept of the game coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S was brought up. While back then, the team was uncertain, Fogelberg said the team was indeed interested. Now, it seems, with the tease on X adding to that, that interest may be becoming something more.
