Destiny 2: The Final Shape: When Does Episode 1 Release?

Players who are smashing through the Destiny 2: The Final Shape campaign may be wondering when Episode 1 launches. Here’s what you need to know.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape is pitting players against The Witness. The enemy is the big bad of the 10-year Light and Dark Saga for Destiny 2. However, after the raid and the campaign’s ending, a year’s worth of episodes is still coming. Split into three episodes across the year, they will advance the story of Destiny 2 even more. Naturally, players are curious when Episode 1 starts. Fortunately, you won’t have to wait long. Here is whe you can expect Episode 1 of Destiny 2: The Final Shape.

When Does Episode 1 of Destiny 2: The Final Shape Go Live?

Episode 1 of Destiny 2: The Final Shape is going live on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 10 am PDT/1 pm EDT/ 6 pm BST/ 3 am AEST (June 12). The Episode features a new Battle Pass with over 200 tiers of content for players to unlock. The tiers are split across three acts that open up every six weeks. However, the story aspect of the Episode will not unlock until next week. Furthermore, the length of Episode one is expected to take place over four months. This does away with the previous 3-month seasonal model.

Additionally, the concept of starting Episode 1 after the expansion’s release is also something new for Destiny 2 players. Some likely expected both launches to coincide (completing the campaign unlocks Episode 1). However, it seems as though Bungie wants to give players some time to get through The Final Shape’s narrative before beginning the next step in Destiny 2. Players don’t have to wait long, as the time frame is only a week. Besides, there is plenty of content in The Final Shape that is going to offer players a lot to do, including the new subclass, Prismatic.

Episode 1 of Destiny 2: The Final Shape is called Echoes and looks to focus on the Vex, the time-traveling robot faction. While we don’t know the full details of what is to come, players can expect new quests that will help to push the narrative along. As players have not seen The Final Shape’s ending, it will be interesting to see what comes next. However, it seems as though the universe is still going to be under threat throughout the year. Once the Echoes episode starts next week, we can begin to learn where Destiny 2 is heading.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape has been a long time in the making. Players have plenty to look forward to throughout the year, and it will be interesting to see where it leads.
