The Final Shape is a story add-on over ten years in the making, and with it comes a new Raid. Many players want to jump into it as soon as possible. Fortunately, we have provided the details below on when it goes live and how to unlock it.

When Does The Raid for Destiny 2: The Final Shape Go Live?

The Raid for Destiny 2: The Final Shape, called Salvation’s Edge, launches on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 10 am PDT/ 1 pm EDT/ 6 pm BST/ 3 am AEST (on June 8). This is a lot sooner than Raids for Destiny 2 in the past, coming just three days after the launch of the expansion.

When Lightfall, the previous Destiny 2 expansion, launched, the Root of Nightmares Raid was released on Friday, March 10, 2023. The actual DLC came out on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, providing players over ten days to experience the story of Lightfall. However, The difference this time is that the Raid for the Final Shape needs to be completed to unlock the final mission of The Final Shape campaign. Because of this, Bungie will release the Raid soon so players can experience a more seamless story without big interruptions, especially if players finish up to the Raid within the first day or so.

How to Unlock The Salvation’s Edge Raid in Destiny 2: The Final Shape

To unlock the Salvation’s Edge Raid in Destiny 2: The Final Shape, players must finish the DLC campaign. Furthermore, players need to complete the Wild Card Exotic Quest. Once both of these requirements are fulfilled, players will gain access to the Raid when it goes live on Friday, June 7, 2024.

You can still join the Raid without completing the above requirements. All you need to do is join a Fireteam host who has completed them. However, as a warning, the Raid contains spoilers for The Final Shape’s narrative. Therefore, players should complete both the story and quest first. That way, they are caught up, and nothing is spoiled during Salvation’s Edge. Locking the Raid behind a story completion is interesting. It is likely that Bungie wishes for players to enjoy the story before rushing into the Raid. When it comes to how both the Raid is connected, we will have to see on Friday, June 7, 2024.
