The release date for the highly anticipated Silent Hill 2 remake was revealed during the PlayStation State of Play, and it’s now available to pre-order.
Silent Hill 2 is a highly anticipated remake of the 2001 psychological horror game fans have been waiting for worldwide. Fortunately, the wait is almost over. Thanks to the recent May 2024 State of Play, fans were treated to 13 minutes of gameplay and an official release date. Luckily, pre-orders are also now available for those who simply cannot wait.
When Is Silent Hill 2 Releasing?
The Silent Hill 2 remake will be released on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. There is currently no information if Silent Hill 2 will be available on Xbox Series X|S. However, it is highly possible the game will eventually be released to Xbox in the future, as other Silent Hill games are available on the platform. Either way, Xbox players will need to be patient for an official announcement.
Silent Hill 2 Pre-Order Information
Along with the Silent Hill 2 announcement trailer, pre-orders have become available to purchase online and from major retailers worldwide. Those pre-ordering the Standard or Deluxe Editions of Silent Hill 2 will receive a bonus, including the Mira the Dog mask and the PlayStation 5 exclusive Robbie the Rabbit mask item. The Deluxe Edition pre-order will also give players a 48-hour Early Access of Silent Hill 2.
It should be noted that the Deluxe Edition is only available for digital purchase. The Mira the Dog mask, Robbie the Rabbit mask, and 48-hour Early Access are also only available from digital pre-orders. Unfortunately, those who pre-order the Physical Edition will not receive any of these available bonuses.
Those who do purchase the Deluxe Edition can expect a selection of various DLCs. The Digital Artbook includes the full concept art for the town and its monsters, the Digital Soundtrack includes tracks by Akira Yamaoka, and the Pyramid Head mask made from a pizza box cosmetic item. The Digital Artbook and Soundtrack will only be distributed in the form of a bonus application. You won’t be able to download them separately.
