PlayStation mascot ASTRO is receiving its next big adventure on PS5 in ASTRO BOT, which launches in September.
It has been almost four years since players got to experience the unique tech demo ASTRO’S PLAYROOM. The title, which came pre-installed on the PlayStation 5 console, offered players a fun adventure with the adorable and lively robot as you explore the history of PlayStation. A new game called ASTRO BOT was announced during the May 2024 PlayStation State of Play. In it, players take control of ASTRO as it explores new worlds and tries new gadgets. The title is a full-fledged journey, and players will be able to play it sooner than they think.
ASTRO BOT Launches A Brand New Adventure in September
ASTRO BOT is delivering players a fun platforming journey for PlayStation 5 and is releasing on Friday, September 6, 2024. It boasts over 50 different worlds that ASTRO will kick, punch, and jump through. That is not all, however. Many of the ASTRO versions of iconic PlayStation heroes like Nathan Drake, Kratos, PaRappa The Rapper, and more are returning. However, this time, instead of being in the background, players will be interacting with them as they embark on their journey.
As indicated in the announcement trailer for ASTRO BOT, the game is using the unique haptic and motion features of the Dualsense controller to heighten gameplay. This feature was prominent in ASTRO’S PLAYROOM. What makes this title unique from its predecessor is that rather than focusing on PlayStation’s past, it is a separate adventure with its own unique narrative. Players will explore worlds and contend against big bosses as they look to save the different worlds ASTRO comes across. There are various powerups that players can acquire throughout levels as well, from gloves that allow you to punch harder to be able to grow in size and demolish parts of the environment. ASTRO BOT is transporting players on a breathtaking new journey, and we can’t wait to see all that is in store.
