The CATAN Australian State and National Championships have returned and feature a fantastic prize pot for winning players.
Whether you’re a brand-new player or a seasoned strategist, CATAN is a great experience, offering plenty of strategy. Fortunately, if you’re a pro at the game, you can test your skills at the CATAN Australian State and National Championships. That’s right! They’re back, and with an amazing prize pot for players to win, all thanks to VR Distribution, which is partnering with five venues across the country.
Where and When Is The CATAN Australian State and National Championships?
The CATAN Australian State and National Championships will be held all across Australia over several select days, starting on June 9, 2024, and ending on July 27, 2024. Unfortunately, Tasmania will not be included in this year’s Championships. However, Canberra will be included later this year for the highly anticipated finals.
It should be noted that the tournaments will be split into two stages: Preliminary and Final. The Preliminary round will consist of the CATAN games (base version with no expansions), with the top four scoring players progressing to the finals. - CATAN State Championship – Western Australia – Tickets
- Sunday, June 9, 2024, at Mount Claremont Community Centre (Tactics).
- CATAN State Championship – Queensland – SOLD OUT
- Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Vault Games Brisbane City.
- CATAN State Championship – South Australia – Tickets
- Thursday, July 6, 2024, and Friday, July 7, 2024, at Table Top Warfare Prospect.
- CATAN State Championship – New South Wales – Tickets
- Thursday, July 20, 2024, at Fortress Sydney.
- CATAN State Championship – Victoria – Tickets
- Thursday, July 27, 2024, at Fortress Melbourne.
All Prizes at the CATAN Australian State and National Championship
Those who place first to fourth will be eligible for some fruitful prizes. However, that is not all. The crowned CATAN National Champion will join Elliot Yap (Australian 2023 Champion) at the next CATAN World Championship in 2025. Below, you’ll find all the prizes for the top four players.
- First Place: $500 travel to the Nationals, a seat in the Top 16, CATAN Traveler Edition, and Return to CATAN Summer Hexes.
- Second Place: CATAN Starfarers Duel and Return to CATAN Summer Hexes.
- Third Place: CATAN Explorers and Pirates Expansion and Return to CATAN Summer Hexes.
- Fourth Place: Rivals for CATAN Deluxe and Return to CATAN Summer Hexes.
It should be noted that spot prizes will be awarded to players throughout the day, and the winners from each state Championship will win a prize pack that includes a guaranteed seat at the 2024 CATAN Australian National Championship Tournament in Canberra later in the year.
