If you try and grab the Disk without the Mock Disk, the Ghost Cat chases you as there is nothing on the pedestal to keep the enemy from staying put. So, you’ll need to follow these steps first in order to ensure that doesn’t happen.
Using the Ghost Cat Statue room as your starting point, head to the left and into the next room. Activate all three yellow buttons in this room and ascend the ladder once the door opens. In the next room with the Telephone Save, jump onto the moving platform and move left into a secret passageway. Next, drop down and to the right past the dog into another small path, follow it, and trek down to the next screen. You encounter a blue spirit; use firecrackers to deter it and go down to the left. Use a firecracker to light up this next room and move to the crank to open a new door. Take the path under the Dog to get around it, then jump over it and up the stairs and the ladder. In this room, don’t flip any switch until the third one, and then quickly platform up to the exit door and continue following this path.
You will get to a room with a chest in the middle. Inside is the Mock Disk; take it. Now, head back down to the Ghost Cat Statue room. Once you arrive, take the regular Disk from the statue and swap it with the Mock Disk. This will give you the regular item, and the Mock Disk will keep the Ghost Cat from chasing you. Now you have the Disk in your inventory.
