Amnesia: The Bunker is Delayed, But New Demo Releases Next Week

Frictional Games have made the unfortunate decision to delay the release of Amnesia: The Bunker by two weeks. To soften the blow, a new demo for the game will release next week.

Amnesia: The Bunker is a first-person survival horror video game made by a small development team of fifteen at Frictional Games. So far, the team have only ever released a handful of games; Penumbra Collectors Pack, Amnesia: Dark Descent, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, SOMA, and Amnesia: Rebirth.

The latest title in the Amnesia series is set in a desolate World War I bunker and follows the story of Henri Clément, a French soldier who is trapped inside the bunker with only one bullet remaining in his revolver. The player must explore the bunker and solve puzzles in order to find a way out, while also avoiding the oppressive terrors that stalk the dark corridors.

Why is Amnesia: The Bunker Delayed?

Amnesia: The Bunker‘s release has been postponed for two weeks due to unanticipated certification challenges. Frictional Games states that “this is a crucial decision to guarantee that the game is not shipped with these issues”.

The added time will enable them to address the problem and deliver the most outstanding gameplay experience when it finally releases. It’s always better to delay games, instead of them launching with issues. We have seen enough of this in the past years with the likes of Redfall and Cyberpunk 2077.
