What is the Hunt Board?
The Hunt Board is an in-game activity in Final Fantasy 16 that allows you to find and take down challenging beasts for a sizeable bounty of gil and renown. The actual board itself is unlocked in The Hideaway by talking to Gav after completing the story mission: The Gathering Storm.
After finding the specified enemy on the Hunt Board, go back and talk to Otto the Moogle to receive your rewards. Clearing all the hunts in the Hunt Board is required for a Silver PlayStation Trophy for those looking to snag the Platinum.
What’s unique about the Hunt Board is that the locations of the actual monsters are not listed, forcing you to explore and search every nook and cranny of an area to find your target. As the tier list of hunts gets higher, so are the descriptions of said hunts, but they usually provide a general idea of where you should look.
Where is Dozmare the Griffin Located in Final Fantasy 16?
Dozmare the Griffin is a Level 28 B Tier hunt located in Norvent Valley in The Holy Empire of Sanbreque. You can find this winged beast at the Caer Norvent River Gate by fast traveling to the Lostwing Obelisk. He will be perched on top of the wall before your fight with it ensues.
Before you decide to track down the Griffin, you should talk to August in The Hideaway to start the Blacksmith Blues side quest which will reward you with more material and money for completing the hunt. After defeating Dozmare, talk to an injured man named Kamil to deliver the material to Blackthorne in The Black Hammer to complete the side mission.
Completing this side quest in Final Fantasy 16 rewards you with 250 EXP, 10 Renown, and Curiosity: Drakeslayer’s Belt Design Draft. The hunt itself rewards you with 8500 Gil and 20 Renown.

While passing along the trail from Lostwing to Caer Norvent, one of our order was met with a sudden blast of wind so strong that it bent back the trunks of the old oaks and heard a cry so terrible that he ran for his life. Questioning the locals revealed that this area was the nesting place of the elder Griffin known as “Dozmare” – a beast much hated for its appetite both for chocobos and for children.
