Making good progress on the Hunt Board in Final Fantasy 16 and wondering where Behemoth King, the Masterless Marauder is? Don’t worry, we got you covered!

Partaking in optional hunts with the Hunt Board is a great way to change up the gameplay and narrative pace and snag up extra rewards in doing so too.

What is the Hunt Board?

The Hunt Board is an in-game activity in Final Fantasy 16 that allows you to find and take down challenging beasts for a sizeable bounty of gil and renown. The actual board itself is unlocked in The Hideaway by talking to Gav after completing the story mission: The Gathering Storm.

After finding the specified enemy on the Hunt Board, go back and talk to Otto the Moogle to receive your rewards. Clearing all the hunts in the Hunt Board is required for a Silver PlayStation Trophy for those looking to snag the Platinum.

What’s unique about the Hunt Board is that the locations of the actual monsters are not listed, forcing you to explore and search every nook and cranny of an area to find your target. As the tier list of hunts gets higher, so are the descriptions of said hunts, but they usually provide a general idea of where you should look.

Where is Behemoth King, the Masterless Marauder Located in Final Fantasy 16?

Behemoth King, the Masterless Marauder is a Level 47 S-Tier hunt located in Vidargraes in the Kingdom of Waloed region. You can find this giant beast by fast traveling to the Vidargraes Obelisk and heading southwest. It will be waiting for you in a conveniently sized open field area.

It is important to note that the Behemoth King, the Masterless Marauder hunt won’t be unlocked until you complete the main quest: Back to Their Origin and reach level 47 with Clive.

Being an S-tier hunt in Final Fantasy 16, the Behemoth King is not for the faint of heart. Be sure to stock up on potions and other consumable items to gain an advantage in battle, especially Stoneskin Tonics. It uses a spin attack constantly if you stay near it so watch out for it.

Behemoth King has 4 deadly moves to learn and study:

  • Four Horsemen: Four meteors drop from the sky and produce shockwaves on impact.
  • Lightning Storm: Bolts of lightning start to rain down and Behemoth will follow up with a rush attack right after.
  • Reign of Fire: This is cast when its HP is about 60%. Tons of meteor markers will start to appear and then meteors will start dropping in a barrage of fire.
  • Apocalypse: This is cast when you dwindle its HP down to 40%. It will start off with 2 casts of Reign of Fire, then two casts of Four Horsemen, followed by a giant meteor. Avoid the meteor at all costs as it can one shot Clive.

Rewards: Behemoth King, the Masterless Marauder drops 20000 experience points, 200 ability points, 1 Orichalcum, and 1 Behemoth Shackle. Orichalcum is an extremely rare material used for crafting end-game gear. Completing the hunt rewards you with 20000 Gil and 55 Renown.

See below for a description of the Final Fantasy 16 hunt:

The Waloeder army captured such beasts and tried to train them to serve, but this particular specimen’s training has long since ceased. Whether its captors turned Akashic with the rest of their comrades or were eaten by their pet when it broke free from its bonds, we shall never know. All we do know is there is none left alive who knows the words to put an end to its rampage—only a show of force will suffice.
