Fortnite Hotspot Custom

What is a Hotspot in Fortnite Battle Royale?

Fortnite’s Hotspots turn up the battle royale heat by giving worthwhile incentives to players when they drop in from the Battle Bus.

Fortnite already features intense gameplay by having many players duke it out on one massive map. However, different gameplay elements, including using hotspots across the maps, make the matches even more competitive and hectic. Many players are wondering what and where they are. In this guide, we go over all of the details.

What is a Hotspot in Fortnite?

A hotspot is a location marked by gold lettering in its name on the map in Fortnite. Hotspots are different from regular areas as they are recognizable by the flying drones that populate the skies above the location. What makes them competitive is that the drones tend to drop greater tier items such as Blue, Purple, and Golden rarity weapons.

Players can either destroy the drones with a pickaxe by landing on them (just be aware of fall damage) or by shooting them down with a couple of bullets from their weapon. However, since the areas usually bring a high population of the lobby, it is best to avoid it if you are looking for a less stressful match. When waiting for the game to begin, always look on the map for the golden-named areas to get a jumpstart on where to drop.

Where Are The Hotspots in Fortnite?

Hotspots always spawn at different named locations, and the exact spots change each match. However, below is the list of all designated locations in Fortnite that rotate as hotspots.

Hotspot Locations

  • Ritzy Riviera
  • Pleasant Piazza
  • Snooty Steppes
  • Fencing Fields
  • Ruined Reels
  • Hazy Hillside
  • Reckless Railways
  • Grand Glacier
  • Classy Courts
  • Lavish Lair
  • Rebel’s Roost

Some of the above locations also serve as spots where NPCs wielding medallions can be defeated for their respective medals. A mixture of having one of those NPCs and a hotspot is sure to be chaotic and fierce. Therefore, it is best to land with more than one player from your squad to ensure you can cover each other’s backs. Also, it gives you a better chance at everyone making it out alive and giving you the edge on a better loot pool than some players on the map.
