Publisher Big Sugar and developer Glowfish Interactive have announced that their upcoming action-adventure platformer, Trifox will be releasing early next year.
Belgium studio Glowfish Interactive have been working on their debut title, Trifox, for some time. Its action-adventure platformer, which is “inspired by the golden age of 3D platformers”, has already begun garnering accolades. WhileTrifox has been building hype, it has already been nominated ‘Most Anticipated Game’ at the Belgian Game Awards. It also received honourable mentions for ‘Best Level Design’ and ‘Character Design’ at the Unfold Games Awards. Emil De Paepe, the co-founder and developer at Glowfish Interactive, spoke about how Trifox has evolved over the years, and the inspirations it took to get there.
“We had the first idea that led to Trifox in 2014 […] The game back then was much more combat-centric, with less focus on the adventure itself […] Over time it grew as we added elements inspired by a bunch of games we loved […] such as Crash Bandicoot, Ratchet and Clank and Jak and Daxter. Our aim is to bring the same joy to Trifox that people experienced when playing those kinds of games when they were younger.”Emil De Paepe ~ Glowfish Interactive
What Is Trifox?
Trifox is an action-platformer in which the player takes on the role of a fox. A fox on a mission, that is. After having their TV remote stolen, the fox embarks on an adventure to retrieve it. You’ll fight through various locations, utilising the game’s class system. You can switch between Warrior, Mage and Engineer, or combine them to create unique combos. Each class has its own unique abilities, so deciding which best fits your playstyle is important. Here’s just some of what you can expect in Trifox:
- Choose from three distinct classes as you venture out to reclaim your TV remote
- Combine various class-based abilities to create unique playstyles
- Collect coins across each location and use them to unlock new skills
- Explore four unique worlds all while fighting enemies, platforming across dangerous environments, and battling bosses
