With so much content on the horizon, Fallout fans are looking for answers on the Fallout TV Series and how it’ll impact Fallout 5.
A recent interview with the Actors and Executive Producers of the Fallout TV Series cleared the air amid speculation that the show would be labeled Fallout 5 or involve a rehashed story seen in previous Fallout games.
Is The Fallout TV Series Going To Be The Same As Fallout 5?
No, the TV series will not be included as one of the Fallout Game titles. This came from a response to that question from Executive Producer Jonathan Nolan: “I think it would be very presumptuous for someone to assume that we’d reach the caliber of the games.”
The team did, however, go on to joke about their knowledge of Fallout 5, with Jonathan Nolan saying: “We know all about Fallout 5; we’re not telling anyone“. This came off the back of Graham Wagner joking, “I think we made Fallout 6.” We, just like every other Fallout fan in the world, would love to have more details on when Fallout 5 will be released, but sadly, that day is not here just yet.
Does the Fallout TV Series Have a Brand New Story?
Yes, the Fallout TV Series will have a brand new story that has not yet been seen in any of the previous Fallout games. Todd Howard explained that the story for the Fallout TV series was guided away from encroaching on what is planned for Fallout 5, saying: “There were some things, I said, don’t do this, because we are going to do that in Fallout 5.”
Jonathan Nolan went on to discuss his excitement for the opportunity to create new and “different characters connecting to the same larger universe.” He continued, saying: “As something to adapt, as a world we could contribute to, it’s just irresistible. It means you have all of the benefits of the beautiful storytelling” found in the Fallout universe, and “we get to tell an original story within that world.”
After The Last of Us made such an impact as a game adaptation success story, hopes are sky-high for Fallout to follow suit. Being huge fans of the series, we personally can’t wait for its release.
