Spider-Man Online Trailers Just Keep Leaking

Spider-Man: The Great Web, also known as Spider-Man Online, has had a number of leaks, including full gameplay trailers.

Back in December 2023, Insomniac Games suffered a horrible data breach that resulted in tons of gameplay footage and details leaking for their upcoming projects. One such project was Spider-Man: The Great Web, an online live service game set in the Marvel’s Spider-Man universe. Unfortunately, the project was announced to be canceled, much to the chagrin of players. However, since that cancelation announcement, several trailers have leaked, showing full gameplay of what the live service title could have been.

Spider-Man Online Trailers Showcase Playable Spider-Gwen, Different Universes & More

The first Spider-Man: The Great Web trailer showcased multiple players taking on the Sinister Six as well as random goons, in addition to what the other dimensions could look like. We caught a glimpse of the Spider-Ham universe, as well as Spider-Man Noir’s black-and-white universe. The second trailer mostly showed the same gameplay footage with the exact same narration. You can watch the first trailer here, and the second trailer below.

In the first trailer, we also get to see a playable Spider-Gwen, presumably one of the potential characters or skins you can choose when starting the game. Additionally, we see someone playing as Venom fighting back against the other players. Other characters shown off are Ben Reilly’s Spider-Man, Cindy Moon’s Silk, and Spider-Man 2099.

Interestingly, many believe that these trailers have been leaked on purpose to gauge interest in the game. None of them have been taken down so far, which is surprising considering how quickly Sony normally reacts to leaks. Of course, we cannot confirm this. However, it is possible that such a high-profile game like this could see a return if enough fans show interest in these leaks. In the meantime, we can listen to Yuri Lowenthal’s impeccable narration and imagine what it would have been like to swing around New York together across dimensions.
