Those anticipating the much-maligned Pokémon Legends: Arceus may finally be getting some updates as, according to The Pokémon Company, news is coming “soon”.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus was announced way back in February of 2021, and since then we’ve had barely any news pertaining to it. Fans have been worried about its overall quality, and aren’t convinced it looks good enough to meet its launch in “Early 2022”. There were further qualms about the Diamond and Pearl Remakes, which are set to release later this year. Pokémon Legends: Arceus is a prequel of sorts to those games, being set in feudal Sinnoh. While there have certainly been fans of these two projects, one would assume – especially considering all of the negativity – Nintendo would have revealed a new trailer or at least some updates. Well, fortunately for fans, the wait may finally be over.
When Will We Get More Pokémon Legends: Arceus News?
GamesBeat recently sat down with the senior director of consumer marketing at The Pokémon Company International, JC Smith. The interview mainly focused on Pokémon’s past as well as the company’s plans for its 25th birthday. However, partway through the interview, GamesBeat asked Smith about Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and when we might be getting news. Here was his response:
“That one [Arceus], we have a robust rollout, but not a lot that I can share at this time. But the team has a lot of great things to share, and you’ll be hearing from us soon.JC Smith ~ GamesBeat Interview, 23rd July 2021
Of course, the most important detail of his quote is the fact that we’ll be hearing from them “soon”. It’s certainly reassuring, especially considering up until this point the last time we heard anything was in May. What this news will entail is still up for speculation, but hopefully, it’ll come attached to a new and improved trailer showcasing the game’s best features.
