Call of Duty: MW3 is only a few weeks away, and players will be able to start preloading it soon.
Preloading allows fans to download a game before it even comes out so that once it launches, they can begin playing immediately. Almost every triple-A title allows players to preload, and Modern Warfare 3 is no exception. Fortunately, it is expected that the preload for the game will begin soon. Below, we explain exactly when you can preload the campaign and multiplayer for MW3.
MW3 Preload Date & Start Time
The Call of Duty: MW3 preload period starts on November 6 for Battle.net users and November 8 for all other platforms. See the full preload dates and start times below:
- MW3 Campaign: November 1, 10 am PT / 1 pm PT / 5 pm GMT
- MW3 Multiplayer & Zombies on Battle.net: November 6, 10 am PT / 1 pm PT / 5 pm GMT
- MW3 Multiplayer & Zombies all platforms: November 8, 10 am PT / 1 pm PT / 5 pm GMT
These preload periods have been officially confirmed by Activision, so players should begin prepping their platforms for space. The game will reportedly require 200GB of space to download. The full launch of MW3 will be on November 10 at 12 am ET / 5 am GMT and November 9 at 9 pm PT.
How to Preload MW3 On PlayStation, Xbox & PC
To preload Modern Warfare 3, you must pre-order any digital edition of the game from your preferred platform and then select the download icon. Both PlayStation and Xbox allow you to set up automatic downloads in order to ensure your game downloads as soon as the preload period begins.
However, if you cannot download it as soon as you pre-order it, then follow the steps below, depending on your platform:
PlayStation
- Go to the PlayStation Store on your PlayStation 5
- Search for MW3
- Select the game
- Click the “Download” option.
- The game will begin to preload
Xbox
- Go to the Microsoft Store on your Xbox Series X/S
- Search for MW3
- Select the game to go to its official store page
- Click the “Download” option.
- The game will begin to preload
Steam
- Go to your Library
- Search for MW3
- Choose the “Preload” option
- The game will begin to pre-load
Battle.net
- Head to your Library
- Search for MW3 or select the MW3 icon from the top
- Select “Preload” at the bottom
- The game will begin to preload
