LudoNarraCon returns for a third year this April to celebrate the wonderful world of narrative video games!
The event will run between April 23rd – 26th and will be accessible via Steam. It’s been run by Fellow Traveller, who are seeking development teams to exhibit at the event and proposals for panels and sessions to feature on the main stage. You can make submissions to exhibit or proposals for main stage sessions here on their website. Submissions will be closing on February 5, 2021.
“We’re proud to be playing a role in helping innovative story-rich games to get their moment in the spotlight.”
There will be a heap of things to do and get stuck into while the event is live. Over on Steam, you’ll be able to access a curated selection of developers ‘digital game booths’ over on their Steam store pages. There will be demos for exhibiting games that will be accessible for the duration of the event. The main stage will be taking place on a live stream over on Steam and will feature panels on narrative games and panellists including narrative game developers, writers, and journalists. The event will even be hosting a generous narrative-themed sale for released games, which will run until the end of the event!
If you’re curious as to who may be in attendance, well wonder no more! Sam Barlow (Director and Writer of Telling Lies and Her Story) and Tanya X Short (Creative Director at Kitfox Games) are set to appear as speakers. That’s gotten me all excited!
This isn’t the first rodeo for LudoNarraCon, as it started back in 2019. The 2020 LudoNarraCon event saw significant growth from the 2019 edition, with nearly 1 million attendees via Steam and a 29% increase in-store page traffic for exhibiting games!
“We started LudoNarraCon with a vision for the power of digital festivals to help indie games rise above the noise,” said Chris Wright, managing director of Fellow Traveller. “We’re proud to be playing a role in helping innovative story-rich games to get their moment in the spotlight.”
Their trailer from 2020 is attached to give you a good idea of what to expect. I hope to see you over at LudoNarraCon on the 23rd of April 2021!
