Soldiers killing a Charger in Helldivers 2

Helldivers 2: How to Kill Chargers

Players will need to kill Chargers in Helldivers 2 either for missions or just to survive a Terminid onslaught. Fortunately, killing them is quite easy.

Chargers are giant, hulking armored Terminids in Helldivers 2 and are one of the primary heavy units you’ll come across. They, as their name implies, charge their enemies, dealing massive damage to anything they hit. Unfortunately, your regular guns won’t deal much damage to it, as they’re heavily armored at the front. However, they’re a lot easier to take down than you may first think. Below, we explain the fastest ways to kill a Charger in Helldivers 2.

How to Kill Chargers in Helldivers 2

The quickest way to kill a Charger in Helldivers 2 is to shoot its weakspots, which are its back and legs. To shoot its legs, you’ll first need to break the armor covering them with an armor-piercing gun such as the EAT (Expendable Anti-Tank) or an RR (Recoilless Rifle). Then, shoot them quickly with your primary weapon. The best way to expose its back is to have it charge at you and then dodge out of the way. Preferably, have it charge at a wall, as this will stun it, rendering it temporarily vulnerable. Once you’ve exposed its back, unload as many bullets into it as possible.

Alternatively, you can use armor-piercing guns, such as the Expendable Anti-Tank, Recoilless Rifle, and Anti-Material Rifle, to kill it instantly from any direction. Furthermore, stratagems, such as any of the Orbital Canons, will do the trick in a pinch. Of course, the easiest way to take down a Charger is to work with a teammate. So, make sure to bring some trusted friends to help you out.

There are a few things to keep in mind when fighting a Charger. Firstly, do not shoot its armor with a regular gun, as this will cause the bullets to ricochet and potentially injure your partners. Incendiary attacks are particularly effective, as they’ll deal consistent and long-term damage. Finally, keep an eye out for a greenish-yellow color on its skin to know when you’ve removed the armor. That’s everything you need to know about Chargers in Helldivers 2. For more guides just like this one, be sure to check out our Guide Hub.
