Genshin Impact Version 2.1 Coming This September

Developer and publisher miHoYo have announced that Genshin Impact’s long-awaited Version 2.1 update will arrive this September for PlayStation, PC and mobile.

The upcoming Version 2.1 update, also known as Floating World Under the Moonlight, has received a release date today. The new update is set to add a slew of new content to the base game focusing on the recently released Inazuma area. According to the developers, it will add “two more major islands, three new playable characters and a grand finale to the main story”.

What Is Included In Version 2.1?

Version 2.1 is bringing a ton of additional features, events, characters and islands for you to explore. Here is some detail about each of the new additions coming this September:

New Islands

Players will have access to two new islands. These are:

  • Watatsumi Island – the home of the resistance forces featuring “dreamlike scenery”
  • Seirai Island – a dangerous place “shrouded in perpetual storms”

New Bosses

According to the press release, there are three new bosses coming in Version 2.1. These are:

  • Hydro Hypostasis
  • Thunder Manifestation
  • Trounce Domain Boss Signora

New Characters

A whopping three new characters are being added in the Version 2.1 update. These are:

  • Raiden Shogun who will join as a five-star Electro polearm user
  • Sangonomiya Kokomi who will join as a five-star character wielding the power of Hydro and a catalyst
  • Kujou Sara who uses an Electro bow and can provide buffs to teammates

New Events

A few new events are arriving in the new update. These are:

  • The Moonchase Festival is coming in the following season. Players will get the opportunity to reunite with Keqing and Xiangling as well as cook and taste local foods and explore the origins of the festival
  • The Moonlight Seeker event will see players embark on a treasure hunt across Liyue, Mondstadt and Dragonspine

Extra Additions

A few additional extras are being added as a part of the update. These are:

  • Fishing
  • Players across all servers will have their Double Crystal bonus reset
  • To celebrate Genshin Impact’s first anniversary, fans will get the chance to receive various awards across seasonal events
  • Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn will join in the game’s first crossover event “Savior From Another World”
