Dragon’s Dogma 2: How to Delete Your Save & Start a New Game

If you were hoping to restart Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’ll have to first delete your save data. Fortunately, we’ve got you covered.

Many players have likely started their first Dragon’s Dogma 2 game and felt like they want to start again. Whether it’s because you don’t like your character or your name or just feel like you’ve rushed too much, it’s not uncommon. However, you may have noticed that there isn’t an option to start a new game back in the main menu. That’s because every player is limited to just one save each. Fortunately, you can delete your old save and start over again.

How to Delete Your Dragon’s Dogma 2 Save and Start a New Game

To start a new game in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’ll need to delete your old file. The process to do this differs per platform, so we’ve listed them all below:

How to Delete Your Dragon’s Dogma 2 Save On Steam

To delete your Dragon’s Dogma 2 save on Steam, you must disable Steam Cloud and then locate and delete the entire win64_save folder. However, if you don’t want to delete your character, then you’ll just want to delete the data00-1.bin or w.e file in the win64_save folder. As it’s a complicated process, we’ve broken it down below:

  • Right-click Dragon’s Dogma 2 in Steam and select Properties
  • Disable the Keep game saves in the Steam Cloud for Dragon’s Dogma 2
  • Next, go to C:\Program Files x86\Steam\userdata\usernumber\2054970\remote\win64_save
    • Delete the entire win64_save folder if you’re not bothered about keeping your character
  • Delete the data00-1.bin or w.e file
    • This is your save file and not your character
  • Next, you’ll want to delete any Steam Cloud save data you have. Here’s how:
    • In Steam, press the Steam icon in the top left
    • Select Settings.
    • Select Cloud
    • Uncheck “Enable Steam Cloud”
    • Next, check where your Steam Cloud data is saved here.
    • Head to those locations and delete all of the necessary files.

Now you’ve followed those steps, head back into Dragon’s Dogma 2, and you’ll see the option to start a new game.

How to Delete Your Dragon’s Dogma 2 Save on Xbox

To delete your Dragon’s Dogma 2 save file on Xbox, you’ll need to go to your My Games & Apps page, press the Menu button on Dragon’s Dogma 2, select Manage Game, then Saved Data, and delete your save. We’ve broken down these steps for you below:

  • Open the My Games & Apps page
  • Go to Dragon’s Dogma 2
  • Press the Menu button to bring up the Options Menu
  • Select Manage Game
  • Select Saved Data
  • Delete your save data

Once you’ve done that, boot up Dragon’s Dogma 2 and select new game to start again.

How to Delete Your Dragon’s Dogma 2 Save on PlayStation

To delete your Dragon’s Dogma 2 save file on PlayStation, you’ll want to go to your Settings menu, then select Saved Data and Game/App settings, and delete the Dragon’s Dogma 2 save data in there. We’ve broken it down into easy-to-follow steps below:

  • Open up your Settings menu
  • Scroll down until you find Saved Data and Game/App settings
  • Select Saved Data (PS5)
  • Select Upload or Delete from Console Storage
  • Select Delete
  • Finally, tick Dragon’s Dogma 2 and select Delete in the bottom right

After doing this, you’ll be able to head back into Dragon’s Dogma 2 and start a new game. Unfortunately, these are the only ways to do it.
