Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty and Update 2.0 Details and Release Date

CD PROJEKT RED provided much-anticipated information about Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2023.

For the uneducated, Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world RPG set in Night City. Players create their own character and playstyle, take on jobs, and build their reputation. The game has sold over 20 million copies and won over 200 awards, but released in an almost unplayable state for many of its players. Fortunately, as time has gone on, CD PROJEKT RED — the developers behind the game — have continuously updated it to improve performance and are now providing players with additional paid story content and the huge free Update 2.0.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty Details (Paid DLC)

Unveiled in the Gamescom trailer, the upcoming expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, named Phantom Liberty, introduces plenty of incredible new features that will enhance the overall game. The standout addition is the Relic skill tree, brimming with a diverse array of powerful abilities. These empower players to master playstyles and craft unique character builds.

Phantom Libery also introduces a new bustling and compact location known as Dogtown. This locale is packed with an overload of dynamic events and missions, along with adrenaline-pumping gigs. Furthermore, it provides a variety of new attire, weaponry, cyberware, and more.

Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty and Update 2

Cyberpunk 2077: Update 2.0 Details (Free Update)

When Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty releases, there will also be a completely free update launching alongside it. Update 2.0 aims to completely reinvent many of the base systems in the game, including redesigned skill trees, an overhauled police system, and vehicle combat.

The game’s new perk system introduces a variety of powerful and unique perks that give players more control over their playstyle and allow them to take down enemies in new and exciting ways. Enemy AI has also been improved, making combat more challenging and rewarding for everyone.

The Gamescom trailer also unveiled a major overhaul of the police system; a feature that was completely lacking when the game launched. The NCPD’s AI has been improved, so they will now respond to player actions in more realistic and engaging ways. For example, they may set up roadblocks, attempt to ram players off the road or call in reinforcements.

Furthermore, driving around Night City will be more compelling with the introduction of vehicle combat. Players can now shoot while driving and Quickhack enemy vehicles from cars and motorbikes. This will add a new layer of strategy to Cyberpunk 2077, making it more challenging and rewarding to drive around Night City.
